This is the third year of the Hannukah Eco Lights event, in which participants clean up their local neighborhood, share Jewish environmental teachings and light the Hannuka candles.
Initially designed as a Facebook event, the project, run by Sviva Israel, has grown to encompass other forms of social media. This posting by Community Organizer 2.0 for Blog Action Day 2009, looks at Eco Lights’ success.
This year, it’s also on Twitter as EcoLights8 (for the 8 nights of the Hannukah holiday).
